Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
Cognitive behaviour therapy is a well-researched and increasingly popular therapeutic approach used for a range of common mental health problems. Many nurses have found that it is a client-centred approach which builds on their existing communication and counselling skills. This text reflects these aspects and avoids the traditional disorder-focused model. Instead, it clarifies the key stages of therapy, enabling the reader to see how CBT can be applied to a range of situations in their own practice. Using case studies, dialogues, discussion questions and further reading, this book will demystify cognitive behaviour therapy and provide a practical resource for nurses working in mental health, learning disabilities and community fields, as well as with a range of physical health problems.

Reproductive Performance of Dairy Cows in Bangladesh
Bangladesh has one of the highest densities of livestock in the world with 145 large ruminants per square kilometer. Dairy is the most important sector of livestock industry in Bangladesh that provides greater part of animal source protein for human consumption. Lifetime productivity of cows largely depends on their individual reproductive performance. In most countries, the primary objective of a reproductive control program in a dairy herd is to have each cow calve and produce a live calf in every 12 months. Like in many other countries, poor reproductive efficiency has been considered to be the major limiting factors in medium and large scale market oriented dairying in Bangladesh for achieving this goal. This book highlighted the overall reproductive efficiency in main milk pocket area of Bangladesh combining both traditional and recent measures of reproductive indexes.

Pedder Dreaming
In 1972, the pristine Lake Pedder in Tasmania's untamed south-west was flooded to build a dam. Wilderness photographer Olegas Truchanas, who had spent years campaigning passionately to save the magnificent freshwater lake, had lost his battle. But the campaign, the first of its kind in Australia, paved the way for later conservation successes, and turned Truchanas into a Tasmanian legend. pedder dreaming quietly evokes the man, the time and the place. Truchanas, a post-war Lithuanian émigré, was a stalwart adventurer, loving family man, activist, thinker, survivor and artist. Told through the recollections of those who were closest to him, Truchanas emerges, as does his influence on early conservation in Tasmania, and the small group of landscape painters, the Sunday Group, who admired his passion for his wondrous landscape. Stunningly illustrated with original Truchanas photographs from the 1950s through to the 1970s, and with artwork from the Sunday Group, pedder dreaming captures the brutality, raw beauty and vulnerability of the Tasmanian wilderness and the legacy of one man who had the vision to fight for it.

The Analysis of Starlight
A reference for astronomers and historians on astronomical spectroscopy, from the discovery of spectral lines through to the year 2000.
The Analysis of Starlight
This book presents a detailed pedagogical account of the equation of state and its applications in several important and fast growing topics in theoretical physics, chemistry and engineering. This book is the storv of the analysis of starlight by astronomical spectroscopy. It describes the development of the subject from the time of Joseph Fraunhofer, who, in 1814, used a telescope-mounted prism to observe the spectral light emitted from several bright stars. He discovered that light was missing at certain colours (wavelengths) in the starlight, and these so-called spectral lines were subsequently shown to hold clues to the nature of the stars themselves. The book explains how the classification of stars using their line spectra developed into a major branch of astronomy whilst new methods in astrophysics made possible the approximate quantitative analysis of spectral lines in the 1920s and 1930s. After the Second World War these techniques were considerably improved when computers were programmed to model the structure of the outer layers of stars. Basic concepts in spectroscopy and spectral analysis are also covered and. finally. Dr Hearnshaw comments on the stellar spectroscopy of some individual star.

Remote Workforce Training: Effective Technologies and Strategies
Lifelong learning can occur both in and out of the classroom, but the most valuable instruction takes place on the job. Remote Workforce Training: Effective Technologies and Strategies investigates methods, techniques, and systems used in employee training programs. The tools and technologies surveyed within these pages will help employers take their workers beyond the transient skill sets offered by university degrees and into a constant state of learning and practice that will enhance both their productivity and technical abilities on a regular basis. In particular, the knowledge offered by this reference book will be of use to educators and students as well as managers, leaders, administrators, and personnel.
Teaching Reading Comprehension to Students with Learning Difficulties
This practitioner resource and course text has given thousands of K-12 teachers evidence-based tools for helping students--particularly those at risk for reading difficulties--understand and acquire new knowledge from text. The authors present a range of scientifically validated instructional techniques and activities, complete with helpful classroom examples and sample lessons. The book describes ways to assess comprehension, build the skills that good readers rely on, and teach students to use multiple comprehension strategies flexibly and effectively. Each chapter features thought-provoking discussion questions. Reproducible lesson plans and graphic organizers can be downloaded and printed in a convenient 8 1/2" x 11" size. New to This Edition Chapters on content-area literacy, English language learners, and intensive interventions. Incorporates current research on each component of reading comprehension. Discusses ways to align instruction with the Common Core State Standards. Additional instructional activities throughout.
Integrating 3D Modeling, Photogrammetry and Design
This book looks at the convergent nature of technology and its relationship to the field of photogrammetry and 3D design. This is a facet of a broader discussion of the nature of technology itself and the relationship of technology to art, as well as an examination of the educational process. In the field of technology-influenced design-based education it is natural to push for advanced technology, yet within a larger institution the constraints of budget and adherence to tradition must be accepted. These opposing forces create a natural balance; in some cases constraints lead to greater creativity than freedom ever can – but in other cases the opposite is true. This work offers insights into ways to integrate new technologies into the field of design, and from a broader standpoint it also looks ahead, raising further questions and looking to the near future as to what additional technologies might cause further disruptions to 3D design as well as wonderful creative opportunities.
