This book looks at the convergent nature of technology and its relationship to the field of photogrammetry and 3D design. This is a facet of a broader discussion of the nature of technology itself and the relationship of technology to art, as well as an examination of the educational process. In the field of technology-influenced design-based education it is natural to push for advanced technology, yet within a larger institution the constraints of budget and adherence to tradition must be accepted. These opposing forces create a natural balance; in some cases constraints lead to greater creativity than freedom ever can – but in other cases the opposite is true. This work offers insights into ways to integrate new technologies into the field of design, and from a broader standpoint it also looks ahead, raising further questions and looking to the near future as to what additional technologies might cause further disruptions to 3D design as well as wonderful creative opportunities.
Gestures are ubiquitous and natural in our everyday life. They convey information about culture, discourse, thought, intentionality, emotion, intersubjectivity, cognition, and first and second language acquisition. Additionally, they are used by non-human primates to communicate with their peers and with humans. Consequently, the modern field of gesture studies has attracted researchers from a number of different disciplines such as anthropology, cognitive science, communication, neuroscience, psycholinguistics, primatology, psychology, robotics, sociology and semiotics. Most Micro Hydro Power plants, particularly in developing countries, are not delivering their best possible power output due to sub-optimal design and construction of their various components. For existing MHS plants which are not working as efficiently as desired a feasible cost effective strategy would be to improve the efficiency of the hydro- turbine with the effect of improving the overall efficiency of the system. The turbine is much more adaptable to retrofit than any other part of the Micro Hydro System while keeping the overall project cost per kilowatt produced within acceptable range.This book shows that the main factors that affect efficiency of Pelton and Cross-flow turbines, which are commonly used in Southern Africa, are the fabrication processes; material used; the control of the water jet movement and flow rate. The fabrication process and the material used determine the roughness of the turbine produced. The roughness determines the friction which in turn affects the efficiency of a turbine. These processes and the use of stainless steel resulted in the least rough finish. This gave an overall increase of 20 - 25% on the turbine efficiencies

3D imaging has lately been one of the fast growing technologies finding its applications in all walks of life. Stereoscopic images are in great demand as people want to view images in a manner similar to eyes which create 3D pictures. The artificial stereoscopy includes left and right images captured by two cameras simultaneously. The shifted distance of right image from left image gives us the perception of Depth. In this work, we have developed a DepthMap form left and right images. DepthMap gives us the idea of depth through Gray-coded image and also gives us accurate depth of each point of objects. There are many formats of 3D which can be visualized through glasses, 3D televisions, cross-eyed methods etc. In this work, we have implemented algorithms for Anaglyph images and JPS formats. We can view Anaglyph images through Red-Blue Glasses and JPS images through Cross-eyed methods. These formats can be easily converted to any other formats like MPO. One massively potential application of such imaging techniques is creating 3D webpages for services like Online Shopping, Travel, Architecture, etc.
