PENGARUH PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE SNOWBALL THROWING (ST) BERBANTUAN PROBLEM SOLVING TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR IPA SISWA KELAS VIII SMPN 2 PADANG GANTING KABUPATEN TANAH DATAR

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh: (1) Hasil belajar IPA siswa belum semuanya maksimal dengan adanya beberapa siswa yang masih mendapat nilai di bawah KKM yang telah ditetapkan oleh sekolah dan dapat dikatakan bahwa hasil belajar IPA siswa masih rendah, (2) Guru sering menggunakan metode konvensional seperti ceramah, (3) Kurangnya kerja sama siswa pada saat diskusi berlangsung, dan (4) Kurangnya keberanian siswa dalam mengeluarkan ide atau pendapat saat pembelajaran berlangsung. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat apakah hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas VIII SMPN 2 Padang Ganting dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Snowball Throwing berbantuan Problem Solving pada materi sistem pernapasan pada manusia lebih baik daripada hasil belajar kognitif siswa menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian eksperimen semu dengan rancangan penelitian Randomizing Control Group Posttest Only Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMPN 2 Padang Ganting Kabupaten Tanah Datar yang terdiri dari 3 kelas yaitu kelas VIII-1, VIII-2, dan VIII-3 yang berjumlah 60 orang. Sampel penelitian ada 2 kelas yaitu kelas VIII-1 yang terdiri dari 20 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII-3 berjumlah 20 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol. Data hasil belajar siswa diperoleh dari hasil tes akhir kedua kelas sampel. Dalam penelitian ini, tes akhir berupa soal objektif sebanyak 25 butir soal. Hasil penelitian ini dapat digambarkan secara umum bahwa hasil belajar siswa setelah dilakukan analisis data didapatkan rata-rata 79 pada kelas eksperimen dan 66,6 pada kelas kontrol. Dengan perhitungan statistik uji-t didapatkan t tabel 1,68, sedangkan t hitung = 3,5106, t hitung > t tabel, maka Ho ditolak dan H1 diterima.. Dengan demikian hipotesis dapat diterima. Maka dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa hasil belajar IPA siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Snowball Throwing berbantuan Problem Solving lebih baik daripada hasil belajar IPA siswa dengan menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional.

Electoral Dynamics in Indonesia

How do politicians win elected office in Indonesia? To find out, research teams fanned out across the country prior to Indonesia’s 2014 legislative election to record campaign events, interview candidates and canvassers, and observe their interactions with voters. They found that at the grassroots political parties are less important than personal campaign teams and vote brokers who reach out to voters through a wide range of networks associated with religion, ethnicity, kinship, micro enterprises, sports clubs and voluntary groups of all sorts. Above all, candidates distribute patronage—cash, goods and other material benefits—to individual voters and to communities. Electoral Dynamics in Indonesia brings to light the scale and complexity of vote buying and the many uncertainties involved in this style of politics, providing an unusually intimate portrait of politics in a patronage-based system.

The State and Illegality in Indonesia

The popular 1998 reformasi movement that brought down President Suharto’s regime demanded an end to illegal practices by state officials, from human rights abuse to nepotistic investments. Yet today, such practices have proven more resistant to reform than people had hoped. Many have said corruption in Indonesia is "entrenched". We argue it is precisely this entrenched character that requires attention. What is state illegality entrenched in and how does it become entrenched? This involves studying actual cases. Our observations led us to rethink fundamental ideas about the nature of the state in Indonesia, especially regarding its socially embedded character. We conclude that illegal practices by state officials are not just aberrations to the state, they are the state. Almost invariably, illegality occurs as part of collective, patterned, organized and collaborative acts, linked to the competition for political power and access to state resources. While obviously excluding many without connections, corrupt behaviour also plays integrative and stabilizing functions. Especially at the lower end of the social ladder, it gets a lot of things done and is often considered legitimate.
