Buku berjudul A-B-C- DESAIN INDUSTRI TEORI DAN PRAKTEK DI INDONESIA merupakan hal ihwal penyusunan Rancangan Undang-Undang Desain Industri (RUUDI), catatan atau komentar terhadap rencana pemerintah yang akan merevisi UUDI Nomor 31 Tahun 2000 dan pelaksanaan Undang-Undang Nomor 31 Tahun 2000 tentang Desain Industri (UUDI) selama ini. Kebetulan saja, penulis ikut serta menjadi anggota Tim Perancang RUUDI yang dibentuk pemerintah q.q. Departemen Hukum dan Hak Asasi Manusia q.q. Direktorat Jenderal Hak Kekayaan Intelektual dan ikut serta melakukan pembahasan RUUDI dengan Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat pada akhir tahun 2000. Selain itu, buku ini juga merupakan catatan pengalaman penulis terhadap pelaksanaan UUDI yang kebetulan penulis berprofesi sebagai advokat, konsultan hak kekayaan intelektual, pengamat, dan dosen di beberapa perguruan tinggi untuk mata kuliah hak kekayaan intelektual (HKI). Dengan alasan itu, penulis ingin berbagi pengetahuan dan pengalaman tentang teori dan praktek hukum desain industri kepada para mahasiswa, aparat pemerintah, pengusaha, praktisi hukum, dan pemerhati HKI sehingga kita dapat memahami sistem desain industri dengan lebih baik dan benar.
