Abstrak

Num. 2030104026, the thesis entitled: “Students' Perception towards the Use of English Song in Learning English (A Study of the Fifth Grade Students of SDN 02 Pariangan Registered in 2023/2024 Academic Year)”. English Teaching Department Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, State Islamic University (UIN) Mahmud Yunus Batusangkar. This research was students' perception towards the use of English song in learning English had not been reveal yet. This research aimed to find out and describe students' perception towards the use of English song in learning English. This research was quantitative, descriptive design. The population of the research was the fifth-grade students of SDN 02 Pariangan registered in 2023/2024 academic year. The number of the population was 28 students. They were chosen by using total sampling technique. In collecting the data, the researcher created questionnaire. To see the validity and the reliability the data, she used trial test. Then, she distributed the questionnaire to the research respondents. After collecting the data, she analysed the result by using descriptive statistical analysis. The research result showed that students' perception towards the use of English song in learning English was positive (91.26%). Most students feel that this method helps them in various aspects of learning, including remembering vocabulary, increasing enthusiasm for learning and motivation, improving pronunciation, and making students more confident in learning.
