Level of Students' Enjoyment in Learning Pronunciation at UIN Mahmud Yunus Batusangkar

ABSTRACT ULFIANA, NIM 20 301 040 63, thesis title: “LEVEL OF STUDENTS’ ENJOYMENT IN LEARNING PRONUNCIATION AT UIN MAHMUD YUNUS BATUSANGKAR”. English Teaching Department, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, UIN Mahmud Yunus Batusangkar. The problem of this research is that it has not revealed the whole the level of students' enjoyment in learning pronunciation. This study aims to describe the level of students’ enjoyment in Learning Pronunciation at English Teaching Department of UIN Mahmud Yunus Batusangkar. This research was descriptive quantitative method. The population of the study was 45 students from 3 classes. They were the first semester students of English teaching department of UIN Mahmud Yunus Batusangkar registered in 2023/2024 academic year. The sample of the research was chosen by using total sampling technique because the population was less than 100 people. To collect the data, the researcher used questionnaire consiting 54 items. The questrionnaire was distributed to respondents by using google form. It was distributed in order to find out the level of students' pleasure in learning pronunciation. In analyzing the data, she used descriptive statistical suggested by Sugiyono. Then, to measure the validation dan reability of instrument used software by SPSS Statistic 20. The result of validity determined by comparing the r-calculated with the r-table. The results obtained from 54 items in the questionnaire were 51 valid of items and 3 invalid of items with a range of r-calculated of 0.207 to 0.281 and the range of r-calculated 0.30 to 0.861 as valid of items. Then, the result of reability of the instrument is 0.967 which mean that the result of reability is the excellent reability category. The results of this research showed that the level of enjoyment felt by students in Pronunciation class was at very high level.

PERSEPSI SISWA TERHADAP KOMPETENSI GURU BIMBINGAN DAN KONSELING DI SMA NEGERI 1 LAREH SAGO HALABAN

Pokok permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah masih ada siswa yang kurang memahami terhadap kompetensi guru Bimbingan dan Konseling yakni adanya siswa yang mengangap guru Bimbingan dan Konseling adalah menangani siswa-siswi yang bermasalah atau siswa yang melanggar peraturan sekolah dan siswa yang masuk keruanggan BK adalah mereka yang mengalami masalah serta guru Bimbingan dan Konseling dipandang sebagai polisi sekolah bagi siswa. Akibat persepsi yang kurang baik (negatif) tersebut, siswa tidak mau terbuka kepada guru Bimbingan dan Konseling. Tujuan pembahasan ini untuk melihat persepsi siswa terhadap kompetensi guru bimbingan dan konseling di SMA Negeri 1 lareh Sago Halaban. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik simple random sampling yang menjadi sampel sebanyak 50 orang siswa yang menggunakan angket/ kuesioner sebagai alat pengumpul data dengan menggunakan skala likert dan populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPS SMA Negeri 1 Lareh Sago Halaban. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan bahwa persepsi siswa terhadap kompetensi guru bimbingan dan konseling dari 4 indikator kompetensi guru bimbingan dan konseling yang telah dipaparkan yaitu pada kompetensi pedagogic tergolong cukup baik dengan persentase 70.96%. Pada kompetensi kepribadian tergolong baik dengan persentase 72 %. Kompetensi social tergolong baik dengan persentase 77%. Kompetensi professional tergolong cukup baik dengan persentase 66%. Dengana demikian dapat diartikan bahwa persepsi siswa terhadap kompetensi guru bimbingan dan konseling terdolong baik hal ini dibuktikan dengan data dari keseluruhan indikator diperoleh bahwa terdapat 35 siswa degan persentase 70 % berpersepsi baik dan 15 siswa dengan persentase 30% berpersepsi cukup baik dengan 50 responden.
