COOPERATIVE LEARNING: MAKING CONNECTIONS IN GENERAL BIOLOGY is a collection ready-to-use short cooperative activities that have broad applicability for first year biology courses. The activities address a range of learning objectives such as reinforcing basic concepts, making connections between various chapters and topics, data analysis and graphing, developing problem solving skills, and mastering terminology. Each activity is designed to stand alone and most require only 5-10 minutes to complete.

Distributed Embedded Systems: Design, Middleware and Resources

This year, the IFIP Working Conference on Distributed and Parallel Embedded Sys tems (DIPES 2008) is held as part of the IFIP World Computer Congress, held in Milan on September 7 10, 2008. The embedded systems world has a great deal of experience with parallel and distributed computing. Many embedded computing systems require the high performance that can be delivered by parallel computing. Parallel and distributed computing are often the only ways to deliver adequate real time performance at low power levels. This year’s conference attracted 30 submissions, of which 21 were accepted. Prof. Jor ̈ g Henkel of the University of Karlsruhe graciously contributed a keynote address on embedded computing and reliability. Assessment and Intervention Issues Across the Life Span

This volume evolved from the second life span development conference held at Southern Illinois University entitled "Assessment and Intervention Across the Lifespan." Providing an overview and consideration of important directions for research in areas of assessment and intervention across the lifespan, the presentations covered a variety of topic areas including social ecology, cultural diversity, attitudes about aging, as well as attention, visual, and linguistic skills. This volume consists of chapters based on the conference presentations as well as additional chapters by experts in related specialty areas discussing attachment theory, learning disabilities, and phonological processing. The second conference and volume continue the work of the first conference and its associated earlier volume. The chapters cover important interactions between assessment and intervention for each major developmental period; several emphasize the importance of early assessment and intervention. A common theme found throughout is the critical connection between basic research and practice. The editors hope this book will prove useful not only to researchers, but also to practitioners in related disciplines working with individuals of all ages.

TRADISI MANJAPUIK ANAK DI NAGARI BATU BASA KECAMATAN PARIANGAN KABUPATEN TANAH DATAR MENURUT PERSPEKTIF HUKUM ISLAM

Judul SKRIPSI “TRADISI MANJAPUIK ANAK DI NAGARI BATU BASA KECAMATAN PARIANGAN KABUPATEN TANAH DATAR MENURUT PERSPEKTIF HUKUM ISLAM”, Jurusan Ahwal Al-Syakhsiyyah, Fakultas Syariah, Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Batusangkar, 2017. Pokok permasalahan dalam SKRIPSI ini adalah Tradisi manjapuik Anak di Nagari Batu Basa Kecamatan Pariangan Kabupaten Tanah Datar, Menurut Perspektif Hukum Islam. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menjelaskan dan menganalisa pelaksanaan tradisi manjapuik anak di Nagari Batu Basa Kecamatan Pariangan Kabupaten Tanah Datar, untuk mengkaji dan menjelaskan pandangan Hukum Islam terhadap tradisi manjapuik. Metode penelitian yang penulis lakukan adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian lapangan (field research) dengan teknik pengambilan data melalui wawancara dan observasi. Sumber data primer terdiri dari orang tua bayi, bako, mamak, datuak, dan sumber data sekunder terdiri dari data pustaka yang berkaitan dengan pembahasan . Adapun analisis data yang dilakukan di sini yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan selanjutnya dianalisa untuk mencari kesimpulan terhadap tradisi manjapuik anak oleh bako menurut perspektif Hukum Islam. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang penulis lakukan proses pelaksanaan tradisi manjapuik anak dilakukan oleh bako dengan cara datang ke rumah orang tua si anak, pada usia anak berumur 3 bulan sampai usia 1 tahun. Bako membawa uang sejumlah Rp 500.000,00, beras delapan liter dan kain panjang. Bako yang tidak melakukan tradisi ini dikenai sanksi denda, denda adat yang diberikan yaitu berupa emas atau uang seharga emas. Denda tersebut dibayarkan dalam masa paling lambat 5 bulan. Apabila tidak dibayarkan maka pelanggar dikenakan sanksi sosial yaitu dikucilkan dalam masyarakat, dan dibuang sepanjang adat. Apabila ditinjau dari Hukum Islam maka tradisi manjapuik anak ini merupakan ‘urf fasid karena lebih besar mudharatnya dari pada manfaatnya.

AKUNTABILITAS DAN TRANSPARANSI PENGELOLAAN ZAKAT PADA BADAN AMIL ZAKAT NASIONAL (BAZNAS) KABUPATEN SIJUNJUNG TAHUN 2016

YULISA, NIM: 13 231 117 dengan judul Skripsi “AKUNTABILITAS DAN TRANSPARANSI PENGELOLAAN ZAKAT PADA BADAN AMIL ZAKAT NASIONAL (BAZNAS) KABUPATEN SIJUNJUNG TAHUN 2016” Jurusan Ekonomi Syariah Konsentrasi Akuntansi Syariah Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis Islam Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Batusangkar. Masalah yang diteliti dalam skripsi ini adalah bagaimana akuntabilitas dan transparansi atas pengelolaan zakat yang dilakukan oleh BAZNAS Kabupaten Sijunjung tahun 2016. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan akuntabilitas dan transparansi yang telah dilakukan oleh BAZNAS Kabupaten Sijunjung dalam pelaksanaan pengumpulan, penyaluran dan pelaporan zakat tahun 2016. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu Field Research. Dalam pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara dan dokumentasi. Untuk wawancara, penulis menentukan dua orang informan dari pihak BAZNAS Kabupaten Sijunjung yaitu Bapak SY.Dt Intan Batuah sebagai Wakil Ketua I bidang Pengumpulan, Pendistribusian dan Pendayagunaan zakat dan Bapak Drs. Gusman sebagai Wakil Ketua II bidang Perencanaan & SDM, bidang Keuangan & Pelaporan dan bidang Administrasi & Umum. Adapun dokumentasi yaitu seperti Laporan Pengelolaan Zakat, Struktur Organisasi, Profil Lembaga dan lainnya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa BAZNAS Kabupaten Sijunjung Tahun 2016 melakukan akuntabilitas pengelolaan zakat yaitu akuntabilitas kepada Muzakki dilakukan melalui berbagai pelayanan dengan memberikan kemudahan kepada Muzakki dalam membayarkan zakat. Akuntabilitas kepada Mustahiq dilakukan melalui program penyaluran zakat yang efektif sesuai dengan program penyaluran secara nasional dan akuntabilitas kepada Pemerintah Daerah dan BAZNAS Provinsi dilakukan dengan menyediakan Laporan Pengelolaan zakat yang disampaikan secara berkala serta kepada BAZNAS Pusat disampaikan melalui Sistem Informasi Manajemen BAZNAS (SIMBA). Transparansiy ang dilakukan oleh BAZNAS Kabupaten Sijunjung terlihat dari penyampaian informasi tentang pengelolaan zakat kepada stackholders melalui media cetak dan media elektronik serta internet.
