Promotes a six-step method of teaching reading, shares the results of Dr. Edward Fry's extensive research in literacy and provides background information on the five essential elements of an effective reading program.

Transcendental Physics

2016 · Book · Koleksi Perpustakaan

In this ground-breaking work, Dr. Close goes beyond the question “How can we explain consciousness in terms of matter?” and asks instead, “Can matter be explained in terms of consciousness?” The results are astounding. Using unimpeachable scientific evidence and logic, the author provides proof of the absolute necessity of the existence of consciousness prior to the emergence of the first particle of the physical universe. Eliminating the conflicts between relativity and quantum mechanics, Transcendental Physics places them in perspective as progressive paradigm shifts leading out of the dead end of dialectic materialism and provides the necessary science for a sweeping shift to a consciousness-based reality paradigm. Transcendental Physics provides scientific proof of the existence of a non-quantum reality, a reality that both exceeds and incorporates physical materiality as a subset of Consciousness. Going beyond mere theory, Dr. Close completes this Herculean vision by providing, in an appendix, new mathematics derived from G. Spencer Brown’s Laws of Form that allows consciousness to be incorporated into the equations of physics. In this book, a truly Transcendental Science—capable of unifying the physical, biological, and psychological sciences with the search for spiritual truth in one consistent paradigm—is born.

Design of a Program Linkage and Communication Mechanism for the Ge 645 Computer System

2016 · Book · Koleksi Perpustakaan

A generic technique for effecting both intra-computer and inter-computer program communications is briefly summarized. The design specification for the implementation of this technique on the GE-645 computer system is described. The structure and organization of the hardware mechanism through which the programs are linked and the necessary support software to facilitate its use are both considered. The basic feature of the technique is the insertion of a Buffer File into each data flow path from one program to another. A Buffer File Control Word containing control and state information is associated with each Buffer File. The hardware mechanism provides a capability for simultaneously manipulating up to eight Buffer File Control Words, symbolically referencing them in a program, and verifying and controlling a Buffer File's access rights. Historical and Philosophical Roots of Perception

2016 · Book · Koleksi Perpustakaan

Handbook of Perception, Volume I: Historical and Philosophical Roots of Perception aims to bring together essential aspects of the very large, diverse, and widely scattered literature on human perception and to give a précis of the state of knowledge in every area of perception. This volume deals with the fundamentals of perceptual systems. The book begins with some philosophical problems of perception, of sense experience, of epistemology, and some questions on the philosophy of mind. It also considers the perceptual structure, association, attention, cognition and knowledge, consciousness and action. There are also chapters emphasizing several contemporary views of perception. Psychologists, biologists, and those interested in the study of human perception will find a book a good reference material.
