Abstrak
Shinta Sri Hamifa, NIM 1930104064, thesis entitle: “An Analysis of Students' Ability in Writing Advertisement Text (A Study of the Ninth Grade Students of MtsS Thawalib Tanjung Limau Registered on 2023/2024 Academic Year)”, English Teaching Department, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, Islamic State University (UIN) Mahmud Yunus Batusangkar. The problem of this research was there were still many students of the ninth grade MtsS Thawalib Tanjung Limau got low score in learning advertisement. at The purpose of this research is to describe students' ability to writing advertisement text based on text components. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The population was ninth students of Mtss Thawalib Tanjung Limau Registered in the 2023/2024 Academic Year who had studied advertisement texts which totaled 82 people. Based on the data analysis, Mean score was the students’ ability in writing advertisement text was 58,59 that is in fair category. The specific finding are the first the students' ability to write the name of the product in the advertisement text is very good. The mean score of the students is 100. Second the students‘ ability to write Description of Product in the advertisement text is fair, the students’ mean score is 71.81. third the students‘ ability in writing Contact Detail in the advertisement text is Poor with the mean score is 12. Fourth the students‘ ability in writing Language Feature in the advertisement text is Poor, the students’ mean score is 27.94.
