Sariyun Habibah. NIM 1930301036 (2024). Script title: "The Role of Mothers in the Formation of Children's Character (Analysis of Mother's Kizah Verses in Tafsir Al-Munir)". Study programme of Al-Qur'an Science and Tafsir, Faculty of Ushuluddin Adab and Da'wah, Batusangkar State Islamic University. The role of mothers is crucial for the formation of children's character. In the midst of many mothers who start to towards their children, even though they are actually the closest to the child, besides that the mother also has a relatively long time to interact with the child. In the Quran there are stories of good mothers that can be used as examples by mothers to shape children's character. Among them are the story of the mother of Prophet Musa AS, the mother of Prophet Isa AS, the mother of Siti Maryam and the mother of Prophet Ibrahim AS. This type of research is library research, using the maudhu' (Thematic) interpretation method. Primary data sources of this research are Tafsir al- Munir fi al-Aqidah wa al-Syari'ah wa al-Manhaj which is focused on the verse of the story of the mother of glory in the Qur'an, namely the story of the mother of Nabı Musa AS (QS. Al-Qasash: 7-9, Qs Thaha: 37-40, Qs. Al-Baqarah: 233) kısah the mother of Prophet Ismail AS (Qs. Ibrahim: 37) The story of Siti Maryam's mother (Qs. Al-Imran: 35-37) the story of the mother of Prophet Isa AS (Qs. At-Tahrim 12). The secondary sources in this research are books, journals, articles and other sources related to the discussion and this research. The results of research related to the role of mothers in the formation of children's character analysis of the mother's story in the Qur'an show that: 1) a good mother's personality in the Qur'an based on the mother's story verse; The mother of the Prophet Moses who obeyed Allah SWT and was patient and had high confidence in Allah SWT, the mother of the Prophet Ismail AS who was obedient and trustworthy and always asked Allah SWT for help, besides that she was also a wife who was obedient to her husband and set an example and maintained her purity, the mother of Siti Maryam who always made efforts and trust in Allah and prayed for the good of her children, and the mother of the Prophet Isa AS who was a strong woman, awake and patient in facing trials. 2) The role of mothers in the formation of children's character based on the verse of the mother's story in the perspective of Tafsir al-Munir includes; Providing for the needs of children, providing good examples for children, always praying for the good for children, and providing good education for children. 3) The child's personality character based on the mother's story verse in the perspective of Tafsir al-Munir "Pray for the well-being of the child and provide them with a good education. The character traits of a child, as reflected in the stories of mothers in the perspective of Tafsir al-Munir, include: obedience and adherence to Allah's commands and always accepting Allah's decrees with sincerity (Prophet Ismail AS); obedience and trust in Allah, high intellect, and patience and resilience in facing trials and tests (Prophet Musa AS); obedience and constant worship of God, and striving to maintain dignity (Siti Maryam); and independence and firmness in facing challenges (Prophet Isa AS)."
