Abstrak
FADHIL DINARTA, No REG. 2030104018, entitled: “Students’ Difficulties In Presenting An Introducing A Speaker Speech”. English Teaching Department Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, State Islamic University (UIN) Mahmud Yunus Batusangkar. The problem of this study is the difficulties in presenting an introducing a speaker speech and have not yet been investigated. The study aims to find out of students’ difficulties in presenting an introducing a speaker speech. This study used qualitative approach, with a phenomenological method. In this study, the researcher was the key instrument and the interview guideline, tape recorder and documentation as the supporting instrument. The informants were 9 seventh semester students of English department who were selected by using purposive sampling recommended by the lecture of the subject based on criteria proposes by the reseacher. In collecting the data, he interviewed the research informants. In analyzing the data, the researcher used the theory of (Miles and Huberman, 1994), which includes data reduction, data display, and Conclusion and verification of the data. Furthermore, to test the trustworthiness of the data, data triangulation is used to find clear information. The results showed that there were five difficulties faced by the students in presenting an introducing a speaker speech, namely 1) nervousness, 2) lack of preparation, 3) incorrect pronunciation, 4) lack of Vocabulary, 5) time Management
