Abstrak
ABSTRACT M.HAFIDZ ZULKARNAIN, Reg No. 1830104032, with the titled is “English Teachers’ Strategies in Teaching Recount Text ( A Study of the Eight Grade Teachers of Islamic Junior High Schools in Rambatan)”. Department of English Education, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, State Islamic University (UIN) Mahmud Yunus Batusangkar. The problem in this research is that the teacher strategy in teaching recount text has not been disclosed. This study aims to find and describe the teachers strategy in teaching recount text. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. There were 6 informants in this study, each of whom was a grade VIII English teacher from (MTsS Rambatan, MTs Muhamadiyah Padang Luar, MTsN 17 Tanah Datar, MTsS Belimbing, MTs PP Istiqomah Simawang and MTsS PP Modern Al-Harbi Pabalutan). In collecting data the researcher followed the interview guidelines. After the data is obtained, the researcher analyzes it by referring to the theory of Miles and Hubberman (2014) which includes: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and data verification. The results of this study indicate that there are 6 teachers in teaching recount text. These strategies are: 1) Making group discussions, 2) Applying Mind Mapping, 3) Using Pictures Series, 4) Implementing Reading Aloud, 5) Doing Question and Answer Relationship, and 6) Applying Discovery Learning.
