Abstrak
This study aimed at finding out the psychological factors affecting students’ difficulties in writing thesis. This study used a quantitative descriptive method involving 58 tenth semester, twelvft semester and fourteenth semester students of the English Education Department of UIN Mahmud Yunus Batusangkar for the 2021/2022 academic year, as the population of this study. The researcher using a questionnaire as an instrument and a one-shot try out technique at the time of data collection which was analyzed using Sugiyono's theory. Based on the results of the study, there were 8 psyhological factors found when doing the thesis. The psychological factors are: high self-esteem factor, low self-esteem factor, somatic factor, cognitive factor, avoidance behavioral factor, persistance factor, direction factor, and intensity factor. The highest factor is low self-esteem in positive category with percentage 74,14%. Then it may be concluded that there is a psychological factors affecting students’in writing thesis.
